Say Cheese!

I am currently starting to work on a new (to me) project line at work. Pre-construction Condition Surveys. Sounds interesting, right? Well let me tell you, it kinda is!!

Our responsibility is to go to neighbouring buildings, be it homes, office towers or parking garages and take pictures of existing defects – cracks, stains, water damage, peeling paint, etc. and report these defects to the client. The main reason is to cover your butts and make sure that no one is going to come back after construction and say that the construction caused the damage and then rape the developer/owner for thousands and thousands in repairs.

The work itself is a little repetative and trying… but the places you get to see and the secret hidden areas of our fair city… so amazing… things you’d never think you’d see – like the kitchen of a very high class hotel in the heart of downtown, parking lots of high end buildings filled with ritzy sportcars, secret dirty dingy basements of million dollar properties, sounds glamour right? That’s not every time, but the ones that I’d look forward to, LOL.

So I am new to this, and we’re now on the hunt for a great camera that we can buy for me to use on site and at home to take pics of Carter if I’m lucky! Which would be so wonderful, because I can’t tell you howmany shots I have missed with my crap ass slow piece of shit camera. I hate it, I hate it so much and have really been trying to get Mike to agree to a new more reliable camera that gives great professional looking pictures (read; EXPENSIVE). But times are tough at the moment and I have to live through my dreams. Someday, someday.
