Lurking is the very common practice of reading an online or e-mail discussion without taking part in the discussion … It is well understood and accepted, however, that there will always be lurkers in any discussion. And people new to a discussion are sometimes advised to lurk until they become familiar with the discussion.
I am a notorious infamous accomplished lurker. I lurk a lot. Why? I dunno. Sometimes I just can’t think of anything to say in response to a witty post and some times I just feel that I am intruding. Weird I know, because most people who blog and have it public want to know that people are actually reading what they’re writing. Dammit, I wanna know that someone cares.
This week is De-lurking week. I wouldn’t have even known about if I wasn’t for Miss Zoot (since I was once again lurking at her blog). This is the week where we all come out of our shells and post a comment on the blogs that we read. Let them know you’re there! Let me know you’re here! I wanna know! Say something nice about me or my blog, say hi, say “Happy De-lurking”, anything.. de-lurk for a week and post a comment when you read someones blog. Make their day with a comment!
