I am jumping back on the Thursday Thirteen wagon. I was doing well, and ran away screaming like a banshee once I couldn’t come up with something clever. I’ll give it another stab I suppose. Look as it as a personal challenge I guess. *roll eyes*
So, here we go.

Thirteen of my Finer Parenting Moments
1. Carter fell off my bed at 4 months old to the hardwood floor below.
2. I put hot sauce in the spaghetti sauce, not even thinking about the fact that he would also be eating it. Poor Bugger.
3. I’ve walked away from him in the cart at the grocery store only to turn around and see him on the verge of standing up in the seat.
4. I’ve given him food that he’s dropped on the ground.
5. I’ve given him a pacifier that he’s dropped on the ground, after picking off the dog hair.
6. I’ve bought him something while we’re shopping just to shut him up.
7. I’ve let him try pop.
8. At the rip old age of 22 months he can bring me the TV remotes and say “hup” (read: help) to turn on the TV for him.
9. I will let him watch episode after episode of DVR’d Dora episodes for an hour of peace, just to clean the kitchen.
10. I laugh at temper tantrums.
11. I laugh when he falls (unless there is blood involved).
12. I taunt him by sticking tape on him and watch him try to get free.
13. I given in to his “requests” to avoid screaming in public. I hate those judgmental stares.
There you have it!

Don’t feel bad. When my daughter was four days old I fell asleep and dropped her to the floor. Needless to say, I panicked and drove straight to the hospital. It didn’t help that I’d had a C-section. I ended up on bed rest for a week and my daughter…she’s crazy and it’s all because I dropped her on her head. LOL (Just kidding, she’s fine.)

I think we’re ALL guilty of many of these or many like them. I know I am!
Love the look of your blog!

um, yes, i was going to let you know all the ones that i’ve done…but the shorter list is the ONE that i haven’t…and that’s #12…and you just KNOW i’ll be trying that one out soon!!!
Bwahahaha! I think we’re long lost sisters!! Dopplegangers!

Love your blog! As always! Especially this posting. I’ve done most of those things in one shape or another! I passed-out 6 days after my c-section, was woken-up to the wails of my precious baby who had fallen off of my chest onto the floor! Thank-God it was a “low-rider” ghetto sofa! Needless to say my husband was met by a hysterical wife when he arrived home shortly after. The baby was OK. But I still have guilt to this day, but it helps to see that I’m not the only one!

Um, so are you saying that those things are BAD? Cuz I’m pretty sure I’ve done just about every one of them…except for the tape thing. I might have to try that.

I’m with you on the laughing at tantrums thing. Most of the time I can’t help but giggle when my son goes off into tantrum-land. I tend to think it’s a healthy coping mechanism.

Your not in this alone! Ive done almost all of those things as well, except the hot sauce one, I dont like hot sauce! LOL

We’ve all had plenty of those moments. Heck, I’ll even let them watch a nice long Dora dvd to sit and blog on occasion.

Wow. I share so many of the finer parenting moments. I think you would be fun to go shopping with because you would not look at me funny for giving into my son’s temper tantrums and letting him have ice cream if it will JUST SHUT HIM UP!!!! (and if the ice cream falls on the floor, yes, I will pick it up)
However, I’ve never put hot sauce in the spaghetti sauce. Does that make me a better mother? Just kidding (I hate hot sauce).
That post just made me laugh. I think I could come up with about 100 good parenting moments.

I laughed out loud at the putting tape on him! Funny!

Eh…those judgmental stares come whether you give in or not. :-0 :-0 :-0 If you give in they stare ’cause you gave in, if you don’t they stare ’cause your kid is screaming…what can you do?!?
And at least your kid HAS Dora! Mine couldn’t even watch that - had to befriend Barney the big purple dinosaur just so I could manage a shower in the morning!!!!!
I love the tape thing.

I downloaded season one of Dora - I feel your pain. I look after my three under six, full time.

LOL! on this list. I can relate to some and those that I’ve never done (like hot sauce in the spaghetti) you can bet I’ve got my own major guilt incident to be added.

The tape on cracks me UP! I am also a laugher and an tantrum-giver-in-er. Life’s too short.

I don’t do TT anymore, but I have to say I have had many of those fine parenting moments.
The pacifier thing… I usually pick it up off the ground, wipe it on my shirt, then stick it in my mouth to wash it off, wipe it on my shirt again and give it to them… yeah , i’m a winner!
My 2yr old watches 2 stupid dogs, Dexter and Sponge Bob religiously.
