Meta Business: I updated to 2.3 last night before realizing that the image headlines (my beautiful post titles) plugin is incompatible with the new upgrade. I changed back but seem to have lost ALL my categories. So if you’re looking for something in the categories, they don’t exist.. until I start over. And well, I’m not re-categorizing everything all over again so I’ll be starting anew. Just so you know. 
So, yeah. Pregnant.
We were really, really wanting this. I am happy. Don’t get me wrong, but when I peed on that stick and saw the results? The first thought through my mind was Oh Fuck! What have we done?
I just don’t have the excitement I did last time. When I peed on the stick and told Mike the results he took a deep breath and said “We’re really doing this.” Then went out for a smoke. *shakes head* Not quite the same reaction as when we found out that we were expecting Carter. I don’t blame him in the least though. My reaction was quite similar.
Now, I have those typical mom-of-two-or-more thoughts running through my mind: Am I going to love this child as much as I love Carter? How am I going to survive chasing a toddler while carrying another baby? My Sleep! OMG, my sleep! OMG. Another baby.
Holy Shit. Another baby.
Wow.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
So exciting. So happy for you.

Believe me - the nervousness is normal. And the “not as excited” feeling - totally normal.

I am also pregnant for the second time and not feeling very excited about it… I’m sure it must be normal.

Congratulations kiddo!
With the first one, you don’t know what to expect. So your level of excitement is so much higher.
With the second one, you THINK you know what to expect and you’re not so much excited as, well, slightly overwhelmed.
Just take a deep breath and remember you have the advantage this time around of not being scared of whether or not you’ll make good parents. You KNOW you’re awesome parents and now Carter will be able to share you with his brother/sister.

oh hon…I totally understand!! I felt the same way once I got my BFP too….crap, I’m having another one!! How will I handle it? It’s hard at first…I won’t lie…the first several months are HARD…but once you get a routine going and get used to 2, it’s not that bad. And trust me….you WILL love the second just as much as the first. I don’t know where the love comes from, but it’s there, stronger than ever. You are going to be such a great mom to 2!!

Congratulations and know that a sibling is the BEST thing you can give your first baby. Don’t you know any spoiled bratty older only children? I was one and thats why we are working on #4! For me pregnancy is definitely more challenging each time but the stuff that seemed hard with a newborn the first time is so much easier.

Well, I think you and my sister had Cater and Ava around the same time and she already had her second at the end of April–it’s tough: Ava has her moments of jealousy and my sis wonders who to give the attention to 1st when she picks them up from day care and such LOL But it is all working out fine. You will have more space/time between them so maybe it will be a bit easier (I had 4 years between mine 1st two–no sweat!)
Carter will be so excited to have a playmate!!! And I so hope you have a girl!!!!
