When I was pregnant a year ago, I’d take my son in his room, close the door and fall asleep on the floor while he played. I was sooooo exhausted!

As for the dog situation, that’s a tough one. Not sure what I think.

IMHO, I think Ellen overall was trying to do the right thing. I wrote a post about it too.

My opinion is that the shelter is in the right. Technically. I don’t think that an animal should go back to the shelter if they are in a loving home. They are usually overcrowded and smelly, and the animals may be fine physically but they are often starved for attention.

I think that what the shelter SHOULD have done is said : We are taking the aniaml back. We see the environment he has been in for the last two weeks and if you really love him and want him then come with us RIGHT NOW and fill out the adoption papers because we have to do this properly.

At the very least they should have offered to let the family adopt the dog after they were screened. I haven’t heard anything to that affect. if they really had the dog’s best interest at heart they would realize that he has been removed from 2 families that love him.

To me, they are refusing to accommodate just to make a point. That doesn’t make them right in my opinion.

really surprised about your review of J.S.’s book… pleasantly surprised. i made my dd’s babyfood too. that was easy but messy. i saw oprah and thought to myself that J’s recipes are probably a lot of work and who has the time with 2 kids? maybe i’ll reconsider, even though you haven’t actually made any of the recipes. btw, i’m so jealous of your sleep. i’m up all night with a newborn and a toddler. sigh.
