I wonder how many times you can read the comment “this too shall pass” without wanting to smack someone….

MAN I hope I’m under that mark. ;-)

On another note - what kind of potty is he going in at school? Is it smaller than the one you have at home?

You know what? I crave me time too! I think that’s why when my son is in bed and my husband is getting ready for bed I am downstairs just chilling reading blogs and surfing the net. And I think I may crave it more after my next child is born (funnily in the same month my son will turn 2!). However you do it let me know so I know what to do b/c I’m starting to get very scared about two very young children! I want this but I’m still scared.

I totally understand about the me time. One reason I’m holding off having a third. I selfishly don’t want to lose my “me” time.

As for the potty training thing….I know you aren’t supposed to do this, but have you thought about consequences for going in his underwear? I had to do that with Ryan. He knew exactly what he was doing….it was a battle of wills. And darn it, I wasn’t about to let my 4 yr old win! I took away his favorite toys every time he went in his pants, gave time outs, even a luke warm shower. Finally, after 3 days, he finally was going on the toilet!
Carter seems to understand what’s expected of him. Just a thought. Not that I endorse it…but there comes a point where you just can’t deal with it anymore. Good luck in whatever you choose!

  7. Mrs. Schmitty says:

Carter is probably peeing and pooping in his pants at home because of the baby. It’s just his way of getting more time from you. He knows you’ll clean him up and to him that’s more time for him and less with the new baby. So totally normal…he’ll adjust.

Being home with the kids 24/7 is tough. Mine are older; 10, 5, 4 and I still feel lonely sometimes. Honestly, I sometimes get pissed at Mr. Schmitty the minute he walks in the house. He didn’t do anything, but if I’ve had a rough day I really resent that he was just out, on his own, for 10 hours straight with nobody pulling him in a million directions. I’m a bitch that way.
