You might Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings. I just saw her last night. She’s got funk and soul. A throw back to the showmanship days- like Gladys Knight and James Brown.
Kid Rock songs. His newer ones aren’t bad. Little Miss is addicted to him now. She should never listen to dad’s music.

Umm, too lazy to look up the title right now, but if it helps I’ve got the song stuck in my head right now! I like your music selection but won’t bother giving you any suggestions. All of my stuff is dance because I only use my ipod when I’m working out.

I don’t know who “wrote” the song, but I know it was originally recorded by Wild Cherry (they were a large band, like many in the 70s and wore the best cherry red polyester jumpsuits) and then redone by Vanilla Ice.
As for suggestions? My daughter would recommend The Fratellis (Flathead is their most familiar number). I’ll suggest a couple songs from a few years back that I like:

My new favorite band is Panic and the Disco. Nine in the Afternoon and Pretty Odd are my favs. If you prefer slow Northen Downpour. Plus the new Sam Roberts album is really good.
