Summers are difficult for blogging. Families are spending more time together with children off from school. There’s swimming, cottages, out-of-town family events, vacations, etc. which can leave minimal time to sit in front of the computer.
Recently there have been events which have changed our community as we knew it – and lives of some of our dear friends. Some life altering events, and even some events – linked or not – which have caused drama throughout the internet. It’s been a little bit depressing for the most part.
Motherhood Uncensored has come up with a fantastic idea: Blog the Recession
Wanna know how it works?
The premise is simple. If you read blogs, then for the month of August, make the “pledge” to click through from your feed reader. No obligation to leave a hilarious comment or send a long stalkerish email (although both, within reason, are always lovely). Just click through to the blog (not on ads unless you are so led) and if you’re feeling generous, click around to their older posts.
Just those extra page views can make a big difference for bloggers who could really use the help, or in [Kristen's case], where page views don’t matter so much, a big fat ego boost.
Really? How could you turn that down?
It’s all about clicking through and letting writers know that you’re there, simple and easy. Doesn’t require leaving comments or particiapating any further then just clicking through the feed reader and letting people know you’re there!
Grab the button, share it with your friends and spread the word!Click through and share the love for the month of August!

Sounds like I need to look into ads. I could certainly use the extra $$.
That actually does seem like a great idea.
Though I had to chuckle at how different summer is for you and me.
What a cool idea…
Thank you so much for thinking about me this past week. It was a helluva scarey week. So your thoughts and support mean alot.
Hope this week is a great one for you.

I’m glad you joined the movement, too! Blog the Recession is an excellent idea.
As for changing your name – that’s a tough decision. I’ve contemplated a name change, too, but I’m not sure how much it would hurt my “brand” by switching to something else, ya know? Part of me says to keep your name, because you’ve defined yourself with that already. The other part of me says if you’re not feeling it, choose something else.

I love this concept. Bloggers helping bloggers, clicks adding up pennies, dimes, and maybe even dollars…Blog the recession, I’m in!
