Nope. I’m not that sophisticated - I’m still wearing shorts from grade nine, aren’I? It’s an HP - still love it though! ;)

    Shit.

    I have a laptop.

But no one told me I wasn’t supposed to sit with my back to my kids while using it.

Lucky girl. I’ve been begging for a laptop for years. My husband seems to think he needs to pay bills instead. Selfish.

    Enjoy!

Ooh, congrats! I absolutely love my laptop. Just be prepared to spend a lot more time on the computer! And I’m glad I inspired someone to back up. I’m going to go sit in the corner and sob now that you’ve reminded me about THE PICTURES OF MY PRECIOUS BABIES. Gone. They are all gone. SOB!

I just got a new laptop as well - must be the buying season!

And I totally get what you’re saying here. About the sweating. And freaking out. And buyers remorse (sort of) while simultaneously humping loving your new purchase.

That’s totally me. We replaced our Mac desktop with a PC laptop, and actually made money on the deal, and I was still beating myself up over it.

There’s nothing quite like the feel of a new rig.

Cracking open the semi-clandestine Add/Remove Programs and getting rid of all the auto-add junk that you’ll never use.

The hours of Microsoft Update that you run before installing anything to make sure you have no conflicts.

The mad panic three weeks from now when you realize that you forgot to install that essential utility, and you’re not online so you can’t get the download.

    Ah… good times.

Doesn’t everyone get flustered making big purchases? I know I do.

In a few days, you’ll be over the flusteredness and will be dry humping your computer too!
