I fought the urge for so long. I mean, you all talked about it around me: how wonderful it was, how addicting, how OMG! OMG! You have to read this book!
I thought to myself: Meh. I’m not at all into that stuff. I don’t think this is my schtick.
But you just kept talking. A girl can only reset so much people.
So, I bought the book; it sat on my shelf for the better part of a month and I didn’t even crack the cover. It just sat there.
Then? Sunday night? I cracked the cover. I read nearly the entire thing.
Monday morning? I went shopping IN MY PAJAMAS to buy the other three books. IN. MY. PAJAMAS.
Monday night? I finished Twilight and began New Moon.
I have been swooped into the Cullen cuven forever to be in love with Bella and Edward. Specifially Edward.
I haven’t been this in love with a book since I was a teenager. Srsly? I feel like a giddy teenage girl hiding under the covers at night reading with my flashlight.
(Okay, so I don’t do that… but it feels kinda like that, yanno?)
I am dead on my feet people. I have been going to sleep at about 3am only to woken up at 4:30am to feed Hudson (who STILL wakes three times a night. BLARGH!!) and then again for the day at about 7:00am, only to do it all over again the next day.
TIRED.
So that’s why I haven’t been around. Busy, busy, busy!
Plus, I figured you had enough shit reading clogging up your feed readers that I would lay off a little and relax on the posting for a bit. It’s been a nice break, I might add.
Can I just say that after avoiding the preview for so long, I finally watched the preview for Twilight and I’m a little disappointed by Edward’s … um … appearance.
(Oh! The vanity!)
I had been envisioning a Shane West or James Franco type and he’s so not. Ever disappointed by a vision that you had and it’s entirely not what you’ve thought? Now I’m going to have to try and block the vision of the ACTUAL Edward out of my mind and get back to MY version to keep the story HAWT. Yanno?
Well, back to Edward now.
Oh! And Santa, baby? I want.
Seriously. I feel fifteen again.

I saw the movie this weekend with the kids.
It was tough to keep from stabbing straws into my eyeballs. The book was way better. In my humble opinion, yo.

So you’re not the only one search etsy for gorgeous twilight related jewels?!
You know I won’t be impressed with your obsession until you’ve read breaking dawn and started right back on twilight and run through them all a second time. It was only the scorn of fellow twitterers that stopped me going for a third!

Ah, so you joined the Twilight thing.
I’m a huge reader, but I refuse to read Twilight. I’m not into the whole vampire thing.
I won’t read Harry Potter either. lol
Glad you like it!

How totally funny! I just finally read the book yesterday and completely imagined Shane West!!! I let the Bella from the movie poster be in my imagination but I wanted the man to look how *I* wanted him to look.
And I am just like you…never up for the hype but damn, Gina…it feels really great to be this into a book…series of books after I hit the bookstore today!

My wife read the first book really quicklybut, now that she is on the second book she doesn’t really like it. Actually, she hates the Bella character. Her opinion was something like: “Bella is such a whiny little bitch, I can’t believe Edward would ever consider turning her because then he’d have that to put up with for eternity….” She emails girlfriends about it from work and then tells me how they agree with her when we meet for lunch. This is the only thing I get to talk about now as my wife is becoming consumed by it.

I totally sympathize. I reread twilight immediately after I read it the first time and I am currently re-reading the entire series. I saw the movie and it left me feeling… meh. Edward’s hair for one was too annoying for words
And they just couldn’t capture what I felt from the books. That being said, I’m so obsessed, I may have to see the movie again anyways. It’s sad.

I am still resisting…I don’t really know why anymore…I think I’m just afraid that the series has been SO hyped up that it couldn’t POSSIBLY be as good as I think it will be.

You don’t know me, but I have to comment. I did the EXACT same thing. I finally caved and read the book on Tuesday. I sent the hubs out to buy the other 3.
I am so addicted. I just watched the movie preview today and will be seeing the movie soon, though I agree I’m disappointed with his appearance. I don’t think anything will match what my brain created. ha!
le sigh.

Hilarious to read your post today – last night my husband’s uncle brought a copy to Thanksgiving dinner for me – totally unprompted. He just thought I’d enjoy it.
I was so excited that I read the entire thing immediately. We are out of town visiting family, otherwise I would SO be at the bookstore buying the rest!
