The Ultimate Coffee Giveway! Trust Me.

by samantha on December 12, 2008

** Thank you to all those that participated in this giveaway! The winner shall be revealed on Thursday afternoon by Carter! ♥ **

For as long as I could remember I was strictly a Tim Horton‘s girl. A dedicated Canadian coffee drinker. I mean, at $1.65 for an extra large coffee? How could you go wrong?

Mmmmmm

Just about everywhere I went, I would have a coffee in hand. I can’t start my work day without one.

But now? Competition.

Yes, I have converted.

Starbucks has been giving my beloved Tim Horton’s a run for my money as of late. Particularly the Tazo Chai Tea Latte (Thanks Cheaty. Thanks. A lot.) So what that it costs about quadruple the amount of an extra large Tim Horton’s coffee. I can’t help myself!

A Non-Fat Tazo Chai. Oh, and a lemon poppy seed loaf (yes, I would eat the ENTIRE loaf as a matter of fact. Thankyouverymuch.). Utter bliss I tell you.

Here comes the good part peeps…

Tell me your very favourite coffee treat here in the comments and I will pick one lucky winner who will receive a Starbucks gift card worth $25.

The comments will close on Tuesday December, 16 at 12pm EST.

I told you it was The Ultimate! Now, get sharing!

I am a skinny two extra shot peppermint extra hot latte girl (try getting that one made up right!). I adore the lemon and poppy seed muffins, but they disappear from here at christmas – makes me a very very sad girlie.
Please please please let me win. x

Yum. In the winter season, my Starbucks Drink of Choice is a Skim Milk Peppermint Mocha with no whipped cream.

3 Iris Carter December 12, 2008 at 11:09 am

I must confess – I am a Starbucks-aholic and my fav is the Java Chip Frappacino! Sure a latte or just a regular coffee is great but the ultimate is the Frap.

I’m boring and love a non-fat latte with a splenda OR if I’m feeling DECADENT, I get a raw sugar. BUT – a non coffee treat that I love is a Carmel Apple Spice, which is SO YUMMY.

This is awful. Not only do you spam stumbleupon for yourself, but you’re also trying to pay people to read through your incoherent ramblings.

There is already too much noise on the internet, please refrain from adding more pointless content.

*I removed lovely James’ URL. If he can be a douche, so can I.*

6 Brenda-SeriouslyMama December 12, 2008 at 11:45 am

Hey James, no one is making you read anything you don’t want to. Get a life and move along.

Sam, I adore the Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte. No wonky sugar free aftertaste and still figure friendly! ;-)

Hey, that James guy sucks, huh?

I’m a big ole’ fan of the caramel anything :) I also tried to resist Starbucks, but lost. Ah well, it’s delicious!

Well, *apparently* James has not had his coffee yet today.

You consider it spam, I call it sharing the wealth. Sorry you feel that wanting to share with people spamming.

Enjoy your holiday season! Hopefully no one spills hot coffee on you because that, my friend, would suck.

9 Erica December 12, 2008 at 11:52 am

I love lemon poppyseed loaf too, but my all-time fav is the lemon-raspberry loaf with a tall, no-whip peppermint mocha. Always puts me in a good mood :D

Starbucks definitely is addictive!! While I love their classic Caramel Macchiatos, there’s nothing like a Passion Tea Lemonade on a hot summer day…. Mmm.

11 Carolyn G December 12, 2008 at 11:57 am

OMG I just love their caffe mochas with little whip cream on top and the lemon pound cake they have is absolutely divine!!!

12 ktjrdn December 12, 2008 at 12:00 pm

Yay! My favorite is the Caramel Macciato, but I always say it not spell it, so I was hoping it was someone else’s favorite too, so I wouldn’t spell it wrong and look like an idiot.

Instead, I admitted that and look like an idiot. Improvement, no?

My favourite Starbucks drink is the eggnog latte – it has a special place in my heart because it reminded me of Canada/North America when I couldn’t get eggnog in the grocery stores when I lived in England.

14 Alorinna December 12, 2008 at 12:06 pm

Okay, I have two. In the summer, the java chip frapp is divine, but I have them leave off the chocolate on top.

In the winter, just a plain decaf latte!

I’d like to invite James to make his way over to my site, where I will happily name, shame and berate his scrawny little ass!

Can’t stand any kind of sweet in my coffee, so those syrup concoctions are out. But! a big ole latte sprinkled with cinnamon & nutmeg? Yum!
also I’ve tried whipping, beating and steaming James, but he always comes out too bitter. Avoid James in your coffee posts whenever possible.

James needs an enema, without lube.

My Starbucks order is picky. It’s an hour from me though so if I win, I want gas money too. Ha ha..kidding.

Quad Iced Grande Skinny Vanilla Latte. I wish they would call it “Karen has a fat ass and requires a punch in the face this morning.” That rolls off the tongue better.

18 D's Mommy December 12, 2008 at 12:38 pm

I am a diehard Starbucks fan. Even though I’m pregnant again and they stopped serving decaf fraps. What that that means for me is that I either have to suck it up and drink a light which STILL has caffeine OR get a cream based drink which is still good but not the same. I digress, I got this one year and have been addicted to it since and yes I’ll order it full of caffeine and just hope the baby doesn’t come out wired:), but it’s a Peppermint Mocha Frappacino. AND I love it in the winter time when they put red and green sprinkles on the whip cream:) Yum! I can’t buy it as often as I like b/c my son wants to drink it AND it’s expensive but I love it!

19 Kerri Anne December 12, 2008 at 12:42 pm

If you like chai, you definitely have to try “a (enter size of cup here) soy no water chai.” It’s my all-time favorite and my go-to drink when the weather is chilly.

20 Michelle December 12, 2008 at 1:26 pm

Gimme the Caffe Mocha, grande, with whipped cream. It’s spoiled me on coffee forever..I’m so disappointed when I brew a regular pot at home now.

21 thordora December 12, 2008 at 1:30 pm

Hortons actually makes me sick. blech.

Venti Soy Latte, but it MUST be sweetened soy. Unsweetened soy milk in latte=BLECH.

Starbucks is my one vice now. Sadly.

Definetly white chocolate mocha latte. And those petit vanilla scones (sadly gone until spring). I’d cut of my right arm for those little triangles of goodness.

I’m with you. I love me the Chai tea. Oh dear, I’m frothing at the mouth just thinking of it. Yum.

Am easy – I’m not much of a coffee drinker usually but I love their hot chocolate and D (husband) would love to have a Starbucks in our living room.

My husband and I spend too much at Starbucks. Like, way too much. We are both nonfat no-whip mocha drinkers. I am pregnant so I had to switch to half-caf :( and during the holiday season I buy a small container of the peppermint syrup so I can add my own pepperminty goodness while saving money. Seriously, 30c a flavor shot is a whole bundle when you get coffee every day!

26 Mo December 12, 2008 at 3:03 pm

I am triple venti skinny vanilla latte girl. Every morning. If I hit The ‘Buck in the afternoon I’m all about the dirty chai latte—a shot or two of espresso in my iced chai. It’s like heaven on earth.

I too used to be a “Timmie’s” girl but then I discovered Country Style…(yes I know this post is about Starbucks) but since I can’t afford Starbucks everyday…anyway on the days that I have some extra cash I love their Caramel Macchiato! Nothing beats that one!!

28 Taylor Blue December 12, 2008 at 5:06 pm

Okay, I don’t drink coffee…so my favorite thing if I can’t get to Tim Horton’s is to drink Starbucks’ hot chocolate. They always put on lots of whipped cream for me..so maybe it’s better than Tim’s … Shoot me now!

(Cheaty gets me addicted to a lot of things.. LOL)

29 James December 12, 2008 at 5:48 pm

I’m just posting here again to apologise for my previous comments. I’ve been a miserable old fart all day and I didn’t realise the problem was me until well into the day.

I thought this was a small site started up with little content, saturated with ads and then someone was paying people to up their pay-per-click. I was wrong – and looking a second time I notice there aren’t even any ads so I was completely wrong.

This isn’t spurred by the (somewhat unnecessary!) responses I received here, I apologised by email to Sam before I read those.

Once again, I’m sorry. Have a Merry Christmas y’all.

30 Karen Sugarpants December 12, 2008 at 5:50 pm

Then I apologize for wishing you a somewhat unnecessary enema. Ha ha. Merry Christmas right back!

31 Emily December 12, 2008 at 6:05 pm

You’ve hit it — my favorite Starbucks combo is a nonfat Chai Latte and a lemon-poppyseed slice too! Mmmm… Though I must confess, the thing that first converted me to Starbucks is no longer on their menu: whatever happened to the drinking chocolate??

firstly, you cannot compare tim horton’s coffee to starbucks tea. it’s like apples and oranges…

but, for regular coffee…i will ALWAYS drink tim’s. starbucks is way too strong and bitter. but, for specialty drinks, i’m a starbucks girls all the way…especially nonfat lattes – it’s boring,i know, but they are amazing. and i love pumpkin spice lattes. MMMMMMMMMM

I’m a Grande skinny vanilla latte, with cinnamon on top.
This is weird because I’m drafting a post about how I want to boycott the familiar brownish burgundy cup, but can’t figure out how to crack my addiction in order to do it.

a soy caramel macchiato, light on the caramel – or a soy vanilla latte (just 2 pumps) and a cranberry bliss bar.

If I can’t go to Whole Foods, Stabucks is the only other place I get coffee from. Everywhere else it’s just awful.

my favorite is discontinued, sadly. it’s the chantico. the best chocolate drink ever – apparently, most people weren’t “strong” enough to handle it. so now, i do the skinny vanilla latte or just a straight up hot chocolate. is that too many? okay, i’ll go with the green tea frappucino as my favorite.

thanks for the giveaway!

and how cool is it that James apologized? That’s pretty uncommon in comment world.
