Pants Optional

by samantha on July 3, 2010

I changed my design in hopes it would give me a refreshed outlook on blogging. It was a hasty decision brought on by the stagnant, putrid smell emanating from this site. Each and every time I’ve come here to try to write something I’d feel stifled by the lack of fresh content and the inescapable need to post something.

The Guilt.

Guilt that I haven’t been writing, guilt that there are more things which need my attention and the fact that writing can easily be put off.

I haven’t felt anything for this site in a long time. I’ve toyed with changing names but each time I think I have a new one that original! fun! and awesome! I find that either someone has the domain or the twitter ID has been squatted on by some 11-year-old shit disturber that has written all of four words EIGHT MONTHS AGO and has shit on a perfectly good ID that will likely sit forever until Twitter decides it is high time they started erasing unused IDs.

Also? Where are that kid’s parents?! Don’t they know only perverts, old people and bloggers use twitter?

Wait. What?

I digress.

So instead of moving on and leaving this place to rot, I’ve decided to attempt to revive it and try again make a half-assed attempt at blogging again.

There’s a couple new features to help you search for when I used to write.

I think I’m in the process of removing ads from the site.

I am not wearing any pants.

Aaaaand… we’ll see what happens…

P.S. If you’re here in any browser other than Firefox, I have NO idea what you’re seeing right now since I haven’t even opened another browser to do a check. That can wait until morning.

Besides. What the HELL are you still doing using Internet Explorer?

**Updated: Threaded comments doesn’t seem to be working with Thesis 1.7. They’ve done some changes to the comment file and now it doesn’t render the same. Hoping for a fix soon!

I don’t think you should ever feel guilty for doing what’s important in your family. I write because I enjoy it – but I wouldn’t put aside important family things to do it. Sometimes life gets on top of you and things get put to the side. Like the blog post I started writing a month ago and haven’t got around to finishing!

I love the new look. And you know, we all just do what we can do around here. Guilt is really such an unnecessary expenditure of energy (like I’m one to talk) especially when it’s over your blog. I really dig this little piece of web here, and I’m not wearing pants either…well, ok, they’re capris…does that count?

It’s really daunting, isn’t it? My whole attitude towards blogging had grown stale and yet I don’t want to quit it altogether. I wish I had the answers but I am glad that you are here too, looking for them right along side me. :)

I’m using Chrome, if that makes me less of a Neanderthal.. and I prefer it to Firefox. :) hehe

I think the site looks great. I have been having the lack of blogging mojo lately, as well. I haven’t posted in like two weeks. No point in forcing it, though.. right? :)

Totally not Neanderthal! Chrome’s my backup with Firefox craps the bed. LOL

It’s just changed so much, Hilly… and it feels like everything’s already been done, yanno? But, like you, I can’t seem to let it go.

Sammmmmm, I’m doing the same damn thing. I thought it’d be okay to switch blog names, switch switchypoo it all up, but uh, yeah.

Full Circle.

Heading right back to mah home at snarkykisses.com… people know that name, and quite frankly, I don’t want to start all over.

Can’t wait to see you NEXT MONTH, like one month from tomorrow or Tuesday (depending on when you get to NYC). Whut?

You know what’s cool? I have multiple places to hunt you down whether you blog or not. :-)

The hardest thing about starting a blog is getting the name! So MANY good ones were taken years ago and barely used. I feel your pain on that one!
