About
I am Samantha, Sam or – if you’re close family or friend – Sammy J. This is my site.
I started this blog in July of 2006 after emerging from the hellish depths of message boards – and MySpace. I found myself wanting somewhere to write, to share and to bond with others. My confidence in meeting people online was badly beaten, but I found blogging gave me the space I so badly wanted, and gave me the ability to control my space and have control over my content.
So here I am.
In the flesh.
Raw and real.
Me.
I am a sister, a daughter, a wife, a mother, an employee, a computer addict, a freelance designer (can I even call myself that?). In March, 2010 I finally decided it was time to take control of other aspects of my life and began working out regularly. I am currently training for a half marathon in May, 2011 and share my journey through DailyMile, twitter and Nike+.
I have two young boys, Hudson and Carter, a pit bull, Briggs, and a cat named Conner.
I work full-time as an estimator and project manager in the construction industry; I am an auto reviewer for the Toronto-based community site, UrbanMoms.ca; and a freelance web designer.
Have a question, comment or just wanna contact me?
Fill out my comment form and I’ll get back to you!! (Unless you’re a spammer. I won’t get back to you – unless you count a flaming bag of dog poop on your doorstep as getting back to you. Because in that case, then I get back to you.)
Looking for something in particular, use the Google Search in the sidebar… or start here.

Hi Samantha
I was originally directed to your blog by my colleague Adrienne, because of your refreshing outlook on parenting, and all things healthy home.
The reason I am contacting you is because I am working for Diane Lai – an all natural, Canadian-made skin care company for both adults and children with sensitive skin – and we’re looking to recruit well-connected and influential parent bloggers like yourself for a sampling and trial program! If you have a few minutes, I’d love to take you through a brief survey about your preferences and routines to potentially qualify you for some free product to test out, as well as and samples to share with friends. We are working toward a dynamic word-of-mouth marketing campaign, and we welcome all honest mentions and reviews – whether they are positive or negative.
Please let me know if you are interested in participating. If so, when would a good time be to chat? I would be happy to contact you directly or provide you with our 5 minute qualifying survey via email
Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello.
I have recently come across your blog which I very much enjoy reading! I am a blogger myself. I mostly write about the little needle felted creations that I make and sell in my shop on Etsy. (handmadebybrynne.etsy.com)
I am writing to tell you about a contest I am having on my blog called “Bring Your Child’s Drawing to Life.” Even though I don’t have children yet of my own, I love working with them and I’m very fond of children’s artwork. If your kids enjoy art and drawing, I highly encourage you to enter their artwork in this contest. The winning illustration will receive a felted wooly created from your own child’s imagination.
I am so excited about having this contest. I’m going to be offering this service in my Etsy shop to bring children’s art to life so this will be a great way to start it out. And please tell other parents about this contest, as well!
If you would like to read more, please visit my blog post about on the contest guidelines and information:

And please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
